This is my 16th year teaching but my first year in Dayton as a Bronco. I currently teach 4th grade math and science.
I began teaching in 2005 in St. Louis Missouri and stayed in that area until the 2016-2017 school year when I moved to the Dallas area and spent 4 years teaching. I taught elementary school general education for 8 years. I spent the next 7 years teaching special education at both the elementary and high school level. I have experience writing curriculum and being a Co-curriculum director, as well as being an Educational Coordinator for a learning center.
I married my best friend Benjamin in 2016 only a few weeks before moving to Texas for his new job. At this time we are working though training to foster and adopt children. Currently we have a black lab mix named Gina and 2 cats, Marley and Reeces Pieces. My parents, brother and sister and my neice live in St. Louis, MIssouri while his parents and brother live in Fargo, North Dakota. The holidays require a lot of traveling to see family but we don’t mind.
When I am not teaching Ben and I love to go scuba diving when possible and try to plan summer vacations to include the ocean. In October- March we travel around the country on the weekends refeering wheelchair rugby while Ben travels to play. Many times we are in different cities/states for tournaments but my favorites are when we are at the same place so I can watch him play on my off games. I have coached high school softball for several years and plan to continue by helping at DHS as a pitching and infield coach. With all of my activities I love squeezing in time to realx and read on short weekends.
