Leona McCord, Principal 

Kimmie Brown Family, my name is Leona McCord and I am very excited to serve as your campus principal. This year will begin my 18th year in education and my 5th year with Dayton ISD. I had the privilege of serving at Stephen F. Austin Elementary as Assistant Principal for the past 4 years.

My husband Wes and I have been married for 27 years and we have 2 amazing kids. Our daughter Breann is a police dispatcher finishing her final year in college and our son Bryce is at Mississippi State studying engineering.

This year I am looking forward to bringing fun and innovation to KMB. My goal is to grow every child every day, to create a campus that encourages and celebrates all through relationships and lots of fun.

Sonya Woodfork, Assistant Principal 

My name is Sonya Woodfork. I am pleased to serve as your Assistant Principal for the 2024-2025 academic year. I have been in education in various capacities for 18 years. This will be my fourth year as an administrator in Dayton Independent School District. I have taught grades Pre-K through 5th and I am certified to teach and lead grades Pre-K through 12. Before becoming an administrator my passion was and remains special education.  

I have been married for 30 years to my husband, Lester, who I met at my very first job. Lester and I have one son and two daughters, all of whom are adults. In my free time, I enjoy serving my community, shopping, and spending time with my family. 

Jonna Sigle, Assistant Principal 

My name is Jonna Sigle, and I’m beginning my 14th year in education,  my 7th year at KMB, and 3rd year on our campus leadership team. I’m excited to serve as an Assistant Principal this school year. I am a 2004 DHS graduate. I reside in the area with my family, and my son Blake is a current DHS Bronco. I am looking forward to working with all of our students, staff and families this year. I can’t wait to help Build Brilliant Minds at KMB this year. 

Kristi Mika, Counselor 

My name is Kristi Mika, and I am the KMB school counselor. This is my 22nd year in education (all in DISD!) my 7th year as a school counselor, and my 4th year at KMB. My husband and I are both DHS graduates, and we have had two children in DISD as well. Our daughter is a recent DHS graduate and will be attending Texas A&M University! Our son is a DHS Bronco!  I am excited for this school year!
