I was born and raised in Crosby (I know,I know). I graduated from Crosby high school in 2006 in the top 10% of my class. I then went on to Lee College where I earned my Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education. After that, I went to UHCL and earned my Bachelors of Science in Early Childhood Education, making the Dean’s List my final year.
I plan to conitnue my education and go after my Master’s Degree!
I have 2 undergraduate degrees:
My teaching certifications include:
This is my first year at Kimmie M. Brown teaching 4th grade Math and Science, and I’m so excited to be part of the Bronco Family!
I have been working in schools for quite a while. I started as a substitute teacher for GCCISD in 2009. After I graduated from UHCL I was offered a job teaching 4th grade math in GCCISD. I then transistioned to a Kindergaten teacher! I taught Kindergarten for two years at Sheldon ISD and I learned so much about how our students begin their educational journey. After teaching Kindergarten I was able to move back up to elementary math. I provided STAAR math interventions and enrichments for 3rd,4th,5th grade students.
I am a proud mother and wife! I have been married since 2012 and have two beautiful children; Jaxon and Lennon.
My daughter Lennon will be attending Colbert Elementary in Pre-k and my son Jaxon will be with me at KMB in 1st grade. I am BEYOND excited for all of us to be together here in this amazing district!
My name is Jessica Ammons. I am originally from Crosby but moved out to Baytown a few years ago. I have two kiddos of my own who are now part of the DISD family too! I have been working in education for almost 10 years. I started out as a substitute teacher for GCCISD and transistioned into a full time teacher.
When I’m not at school I enjoy cooking, going on adventures with my family, and drinking coffee!
It’s always a great day to be a Bronco!
